As Mayor of Dallas, I am passionate about ensuring our city’s youth have access to opportunities, and I am committed to helping them prepare for the future. With the right support, young Dallasites can transform their lives and fulfill their dreams.
We are now into year 4 of my Dallas Works Program. Last year, together we provided over 1,200 jobs to youth in Dallas. Dallas Works will be able to connect as many Dallas students as possible to paid employment. Participants will be able to explore various career paths, receive training, and develop useful skills all while earning a paycheck.
Investing in our youth not only prepares them for success, it will also help build the workforce and contribute to the overall economic health of our great city.
I am organizing a coalition of schools, nonprofits, students, employers and other stakeholders to participate in this program. Working together, we can create a collective impact that will positively affect our community – right now and ultimately in the years to come.
