Mayor Eric Johnson is very passionate about ensuring that all students and young adults who live in the City of Dallas have the opportunity to obtain a summer job, apprenticeship or internship. Growing up in West Dallas, he knows that this can impact and in his case, transform a life. Mayor Johnson is aware of all of the good work that our city provides for our students and would like for the City of Dallas to come together collectively to provide an efficient way to communicate all opportunities to our students, while providing them with the benefits of the program that registered Dallas Works students have.

Affiliate Partnership Overview:

Hire Dallas youth – Students will not receive workforce readiness training. Companies will hire students on their own.

  • Types of work for students: Job Shadowing, Apprenticeship, Internships or Volunteer Opportunities
  • Student minimum pay: Various – determined by Affiliate Partner
  • Student intern: Students who can participate in the Affiliate Program ages 15-24
  • Process: Affiliate Partner will adhere to their programs processes and procedures. Dallas Works will not have any input or interfere with any program activities.
  • Hiring selections: Ensure all students who participate in your program completes the Dallas Works Affiliate Program questionnaire prior their program start date.
  • Student evaluations: Provide students with an evaluations at the end of program.
  • Program evaluation: Complete a quick Dallas Works end-of-summer affiliate program evaluation. Submit published program results to be included in the Dallas Mayor’s Program Overview that will be provided to Mayor Eric Johnson.
  • Celebratory event: Optional.
  • Website: Your logo will be placed on the Dallas Works website. We will also post your program registration link on our Dallas Works student view only website, where students can view opportunities in Dallas once they register for Dallas Works.
